Engineered Siding
Engineered Siding
Low Maintenance, High Performance
Engineered siding is built to take on lake country winters. Freeze-thaw cycles, ice buildup, and sudden temperature swings expose weak materials fast, but engineered wood holds its shape and finish season after season without cracking or warping. We stock LP and Maibec, both selected for cold-climate performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Engineered wood siding is made from wood strands or fibres bonded together with resins and finished with a protective overlay.
The result looks and feels like real wood but resists moisture, cracking, and warping far better than solid boards. It is lighter and easier to install than fibre cement, and it finishes well. We stock LP SmartSide and Maibec, both built to handle cold-climate conditions.

Each material has its strengths, so the best choice depends on the look and upkeep you want. Engineered wood gives the warmth and texture of real wood and installs lighter than fibre cement, while resisting moisture better than solid wood. Vinyl is the lowest-maintenance and most budget-friendly, and fibre cement is heavier and more fire-resistant.

It depends on the product. Many engineered siding lines come pre-finished from the factory and hold their colour for many years without painting. Others are sold primed or ready to finish, so you can paint them the colour you want or refresh them later. We will point you to the option that matches how much maintenance you want to take on.
